First up is, Other People’s Butterflies by Cora Ruskin! This book has an aro ace lead by an aro ace author which gives us a point of view that is very personal. The plot has Harriet the Spy and Gossip Girl vibes and tackles the topic of the romantic expectations within male-female friendships.

I dont even know why it took me so long to figure out that im asexual. Once i was literally thinking “Wow i really dont think boys are attractive but i also dont want to touch any girls” but instead of going “ahhhh” my brain just went

I feel this to my soul. Took me way, way too long to realise I wasn’t attracted to anyone — that movies and fiction etc weren’t making stuff up or exaggerating for effect (and apparently shirtless scenes™️ are actually a seller and not a boring waste of screen time like I thought hfgfh)

But I think the funniest thing is that I dated several people and never really thought about why I had zero desire to initiate or receive anything more than a hug, let alone why I said yes to being their girlfriend simply because I liked hanging out with them. I was just like “oh yeah this is how everyone is, but also this whole attraction and physical intimacy thing is really, really overrated. Guess I’ll go with it though

Some more sketches of a potential Riku and Kairi team up to find Sora. And shoutout to the anon two years ago who suggested Treasure Planet as a world where Final Fantasy IX characters could pop up in! It makes me laugh thinking that the Tantalus Theater Troupe would have some sort of rivalry with Silver’s crew (and be aware of each other’s schemes). Treasure Planet as a world could be really cool to consider in a Riku and Kairi adventure. I like the idea that the map sphere could have a map that includes all the worlds we’ve already seen as well as new and uncharted ones! and perhaps the portal could open up to areas like the Destiny Islands or even where Sora is at. I’m not sure but it’s fun to think about. I also think Jim and Riku could really bond
